As a student, I still remember some of the trends that defined my youth. I recall playing with Rubiks cubes, getting an Atari 2600 for Christmas, wearing LeTrigre shirts and boat shoes (which, by the way, I still wear... I have a pair of TopSiders on as we speak. I also recall trends and fads in music... the mixture of metal, classic rock, punk, new wave and electronic music that blasted out of every boom box (yes, kids... do you know what that is?) at every gathering and jr. high school dance. I also recall the dances we did, such as the Cabbage Patch and the Running Man. For the parents of my students, all these are probably familiar terms. For my students, just nostalgic stories Mr. Delgado tells as he remembers the "Good Ol' Days." But... HA! Joke is on you. Little do you realize that the fads of today will also become the curiosities of your own children, kiddos. And, what is worse, is that with the prevalance of the internet, the trends and fads of today's generations will have an even longer shelf life. Case in point... the Harlem Shake! Seems that everywhere are everywhere you look, even here at Cooley. And, yes, the Harlem Shake fever has even stuck our own classroom. So, why fight it... join it! Below, I give you... the Bulldog Shake!
